Great unused late 1940s to early 1950s real-photo postcard of the Butterfield stagecoach stop at Warner Springs, California! The stagecoach stop was part of the Butterfield Overland Mail route, which operated from 1858 to 1861. The route, which was disrupted by the Civil War, traveled between San Francisco, St. Louis, Missouri and Memphis, Tennessee. This simple one-story adobe building still stands, although it's apparently in poor condition. Interesting image of an unrestored stagecoach stop, and a desirable San Diego County or Western Americana collectible in excellent condition!
