Bold, striking graphics in this scarce artist-signed Volland postcard of a pretty lady in white playing golf, as a caddy looks on! A fine example of graphics used in the Arts and Crafts movement, a transitional period between the Art Nouveau and Art Deco stylistic movements. Can’t quite make out the artist’s name at bottom right but it ends in a “T,” narrowing the choices to Janet Laura Scott or Maginel Wright Enright. Published in 1907 by the P. F. Volland Co. of Evanston, Illinois, not postally used until 1909, and a desirable golfing or sports collectible in excellent condition!
