Nicely detailed c. 1950s real-photo postcard of the Columbia glacier near Valdez, AK! Later scientific research has described this as the world's fastest glacier. It moves about 110 feet a day and appears to be disintegrating into what should become a spectacular fjord rivalling Glacier Bay. Descending from the Chugach Mountains into Prince Williams Sound near Valdez, the Columbia is said to be calving icebergs into Prince Williams Sound faster than it's accumulating new snow. Photo by Photocraft, marked as No. 141, and a desirable Cordova County, Green Movement or Alaskan collectible in excellent condition!
