Great graphics in this unused c. 1907 postcard of "Queen Johnnie," a Haida Indian, at Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia! Politically incorrect image refers to her as an "Indian squaw" instead of a First Nation tribal member. Body art includes a ring through Queen Johnnie's nose and some sort of protruding plate below her lower lip. The Queen Charlotte Islands, in Northern BC, are an archipelago of more than 150 islands known as Haida Gwaii or Gwaii Haanas. The Haida tribe has lived on the islands for thousands of years. Published by Valentine & Sons, number 104,196, and a desirable native Americana or Canadian collectible in excellent condition!
