Scarce 1908 undivided-back one-of-a-kind Christmas postcard from the German immigrant community in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania - and with a street car RPO flag cancel! This card has everything going for it. Very finely detailed and artist signed by E. Wildecans. Says “Greeting of the Christmas tavern” below the Santa or monk-like figure. In Germany, there are traditionally two Christmas days. December 26 (the date on this view) is traditionally devoted to visiting family and friends, and is similar to Boxing Day in Great Britain and Canada. A unique Christmas or Allegheny County collectible in excellent condition, also of interest from a social history or philately standpoint!
