Scarce c. 1940 EKC real-photo postcard of a pretty Filipino lady on a flowered parade float bearing a welcome sign for President Manuel Quezon, president of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944. Born in Baler, Aurora, the Philippines, he's considered the father of the national language. He's also remembered for a notable humanitarian act: When many other countries turned their heads, Quezon, in cooperation with United States High Commissioner Paul McNutt, helped Jewish refugees fleeing Europe to enter the Philippines. Finely detailed and sharply focused, great clarity. A desirable Filipino collectible in excellent condition!
