Great graphics in this 1940s postcard of the Art Moderne or Art Deco Greyhound bus station in Norfolk, VA, since demolished. Designed by noted Louisville, Kentucky architect William Strudwick Arrasmith (1898-1965, this sleek, streamlined bus depot was built in 1942 and had a restaurant seating 100. Trivia: This was the first Greyhound bus station not having the pylon sign located above the entrance. Arrasmith is known for building about 65 bus stations east of the Mississippi River for Greyhound. Postmarked in 1951 and a desirable Norfolk County, Art Moderne or transportation collectible in excellent condition.
