Finely detailed 1926 real-photo postcard of a steamship approaching the dock at the Kjendalsrestauranten in Loen, Norway! Many people are out on the dock. In the background, one can see the huge scar on the Ravnefjeld (Raven Mountain), which is famous for its huge rock slides. Several massive boulders have fallen into the lake from the scarred area and, in this very narrow fjord, immense waves, as high as 200 feet, have been created, sweeping the valley clean. One such rock slide occurred in 1905 and another in 1936. Photo by Carl Normann of Hamar, and a desirable Norwegian collectible in near-mint condition!
