Finely detailed and scarce 1907 futuristic postcard, appearing hand colored, of "Main St., looking North, in the near future" in Liberty, New York! An exuberant example of the boosterism so prevalent at that time in American history, with the road crowded with trolley cars, automobiles and bicycles, while a dirigible, a hot air balloon and other fanciful vehicles fly overhead. Sender has labeled the airborne beer keg vehicle as a "Jew balloon," and written "What will happen" below the elevated train. Local businesses are also incorporated into this image, with a Rexall drug store at front left and a souvenir store owned by someone whose first name was "William" at right front. General store owned by the Goosif family is also on the right side of the street. Published by Feitner of Liberty, NY, and a desirable Sullivan County, Catskill Mountains or transportation collectible in excellent condition!
