Handsome postally unused c. 1940s linen postcard of the Governor's Palace, old walls and gate in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Govenor's Palace, or "La Fortaleza," was first occupied by Spanish Governors in 1639. It's situated on top of the old wall which once surrounded San Juan. There were five gates to the city; the only remaning one, San Juan Gate, is shown here. Published by the Matias Photo Shop of San Juan, and a desirable Puerto Rican or Caribbean collectible in excellent condition.
