Nicely detailed real-photo postcard of the Boca Raton Club in Boca Raton, Florida. Famed resort architect Addison Mizner designed what was then known as the Cloister Inn, the "the world's most architecturally beautiful playground." The Cloister, designed in a Mediterranean style, opened in February 1926 as one of the most expensive hotels of its day. At the time this post card was postmarked in 1940, U.S. Army Air Corps trainees occupied the building, which was described as "the most elegant barracks in history." Eventually, the Cloister Inn evolved into the Boca Raton Resort & Club. A desirable Palm Beach County collectible in excellent condition.
