Dramatic graphics in this unused 1946 postcard advertising the Anna Lucasta off-Broadway play as performed by an all-black cast and starring Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee! (The production staff was all white.) Additional stars included Alice Childress in her professional debut and Roy Allen. The story revolves around a prostitute banished from her home by her father, and hence we see the woman leaning against a lamp post. Walter Winchell gave the play glowing reviews. A desirable black Americana or off-Broadway theater collectible in very good condition, with a slight bend at upper left not materially affecting this scarce image.
