Great unused 1931 postcard of the new airport (now known as Birmingham International Airport) which opened on June 1, 1931 in Birmingham, AL! Very nicely detailed view of the “million dollar” airport, showing administration and terminal buildings and numerous biplanes. Covered 315 acres at the time, could accommodate 300 to 400 planes, and was five miles northeast of downtown. Published by Ehler’s News Co. of Birmingham, and a desirable Jefferson County or aviation collectible in near-mint condition!
