Nicely detailed view of a very narrow road, the Khyber Pass (sometimes spelled as Kyber), in Bermuda. The road was named in memory of a regiment of the Second Battalion, 56th Regiment (West Essex), which was based in Bermuda. Part of the regiment was all but annihilated at the Khyber Pass in Afghanistan in 1841, after retreating from Kabul in battle. The sender wrote: "It is the narrowest road you ever saw and this card doesn't give a very good idea." Published by Wm. Weiss & Co. of Hamilton, and a desirable Caribbean collectible in very good condition.
