Handsome unused 1907-1915 postcard of Lakeland Asylum (the Central Kentucky Asylum for the Insane) on Lagrange Rd. in Anchorage, Kentucky. Built in 1869, it first housed juvenile delinquents and was known as the Home for Juvenile Delinquents at Lakeland. In 1873, when it became a lunatic asylum, it was renamed as the Central Kentucky Lunatic Asylum, with its final name change being to the Central Kentucky Asylum for the Insane (or Central State). This building was demolished in 1996. Published by F. M. Kirby, and a desirable Jefferson County or medical collectible in very good condition.
